A 40-year-old Indonesian man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his mother-in-law by sending her poisoned chicken satay. The suspect, Purwadi Wahyudi, is accused of lacing the food with rat poison and then trying to frame his sister-in-law for the crime.

The incident occurred in Central Java, where the victim, 57-year-old Aminah, was found dead in her home. Police say Purwadi had been feeling disrespected by Aminah and decided to take revenge by ordering the chicken skewers, dipping them in toxic chemicals, and then couriering them to her house.

Indonesian Poisoning Case

The family became suspicious after Aminah’s death and contacted the police, who then exhumed her body and found signs of poisoning in most of her major organs. The investigation revealed that Purwadi had used his sister-in-law’s name and photo on a delivery app to pretend to be her and avoid detection.

Purwadi’s plan was carefully thought out, but it was ultimately foiled by the delivery driver, who raised suspicions about the delivery, and the vendor who sold Purwadi the satay, who noticed that the food was in different packaging by the time it was delivered to Aminah.

The case has sparked outrage in Indonesia, where the penalty for murder can be the death penalty or at least 20 years in prison. Purwadi has been detained but has not been formally charged with the crime.

Investigation and Aftermath

The police are still investigating the case, and Purwadi’s motives are still unclear. However, it is believed that he was motivated by a desire for revenge against his mother-in-law, whom he felt had disrespected him.

The case highlights the importance of being cautious when receiving food from unknown sources and the need for families to be aware of potential conflicts and tensions that can lead to violence.
